The 2025 Mayoral Service Recognition Program: Impact Awards Nomination Form
The Mayoral Service Recognition Impact Awards honor exceptional volunteer projects across New York City carried out by organizations, businesses, and residents that strengthen our communities with people power.
NYC Service is now accepting nominations for Impact Awards in the following categories:
- Spirit of the City Award: honors an individual (21 or over) whose exceptional volunteer or service work has positively impacted their community and inspires those around them to take action.
- AmeriCorps Alum Impact Award: honors an AmeriCorps alum who has continued to embody the AmeriCorps spirit of "Getting Things Done" in New York City communities beyond their service year.
- Community Impact Award: honors an organization that leverages the power of volunteers in innovative and resourceful ways to strategically address City or community needs.
- Partnership Impact Award: honors an innovative organization and business partnership that came together in service to a community.
- Youth Impact Award: honors an individual person or group of youth who have had a tangible impact in their community.
Nominations close on February 18, 2025.
Review and Scoring
All eligible applications will be reviewed by an internal NYC Service committee. The top-scoring applications in each Impact Award category will advance as finalists. Finalist applications will become open to a public vote where New Yorkers across the five boroughs can show their support for their preferred nominee. Finalists will undergo a final round of review by the internal committee which will include the calculated results of the public vote. The top-scoring application in each award will named the winner. Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for any of the Impact Awards, the nominee(s) must have:

conducted a volunteer project within New York City during calendar year 2024 (projects that extend into 2025 or that began prior to 2024 may be considered),

addressed an NYC community need or priority through the volunteer project

Q: Can a person or group be nominated for multiple Impact Awards?
A: Yes, a person or group can be nominated for multiple Impact Awards for which they qualify. For example, a 19-year-old person can qualify for the AmeriCorps Alum Impact Award and the Youth Impact Award. Although nominations for multiple awards are permitted, a person or group cannot win more than one award.
Q: Can more than one person nominate the same person or group for an Impact Award?
A: Yes, more than one person can nominate the same person or group for an Impact Award. For example, a 19-year-old can be nominated for the Youth Impact Award by their coach, professor, and parent. Note: multiple applications for any given nominee for an award will undergo the same selection and review process as that of any given nominee with only one application.
Q: Who can nominate a person or group for an Impact Award?
A: Anybody with an established relationship with the nominee can complete the application on their behalf. The nominator can be a peer, professor, mentor, close family member, or supervisor. Self-nominations are also permitted.
