Web Design

Job description

A Web Designer is responsible for creating the design and layout of a website or web pages. We are looking for someone ready to work on and improve Witness' existing website.

Responsibilities and Expected Outcomes:

  1. Designing an Engaging Website: Create the visual elements, layout, and user interface of a website using design software like Adobe Creative Suite, or whatever you are proficient in.
  2. User Experience (UX) Focus and User Interface (UI) Development: Make sure the site is easy to navigate and that it addresses the needs of our target audience; Designing interactive elements and considering how users will interact with the website.
  3. Responsive Design: Ensure websites are functional and visually appealing on various devices and screen sizes.
  4. Graphic Design and Branding: Develop aesthetic elements such as logos, typography, and color palettes that align with the brand’s identity.
  5. Testing and Improvement: Regularly test websites for ease of use, speed, and other quality factors, and make necessary adjustments.
  6. SEO Basics: Incorporate basic search engine optimization strategies into design to boost the site's visibility.

Qualifications, Credentials, and Technical Skills Required:

  1. Technical Skills: Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Figma. Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is often required to ensure designs can be effectively implemented.
  2. Creativity and Artistic Insight: Strong visual design skills with an eye for good aesthetics.
  3.  Attention to Detail: Ability to focus on detailed aspects of a design to ensure high levels of usability and overall quality.
  4.  Problem-Solving Skills:  Must be able to come up with effective solutions to usability issues and design constraints.
  5. Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects at once, often to tight deadlines.
