Fundavenyc seeks to accelerate asylum seekers and immigrants’ transition into thriving New York City residents. We are hosting a Toy Drive for our annual Christmas Celebration, and we need volunteers to transport toys from various collection centers to the designated drop-off location. Help transport happiness to children experiencing their first holiday season in the US! Location: Manhattan, Brooklyn, or Queens. The route will be assigned closer to the volunteer opportunity date. Delivery address: 49-28 31st Street, Long Island City, NY 11101 (use the entrance through double brown doors in the middle of the block) Time Commitment: This is a one-time opportunity on a December weekend. Volunteers must be available for any of: Friday, December 8th, 2023: Flexible hours between 12:00 pm and 8:00pm EST (average shift is 3 hours), OR Saturday, December 9th, 2023: Flexible hours between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm EST (average shift is 3 hours). Key Responsibilities: Pick up toys from different collection centers and drop off at the designated location. Communicate prior to the opportunity with Fundavenyc's transportation team to confirm the route. Qualifications: Have a car, OR Have a driver's license and be able to cover expenses for a car rental, OR Be able to transport items by other means on your own and cover expenses. Training/Support Provided: Instructions will be sent virtually beforehand, and our transportation team will be available before and during your shift to answer any inquiries
