Wrap Holiday Toys for Asylum Seekers and Immigrants

FUNDAVENYC, INC.

Purpose/Objective:
Fundavenyc seeks to accelerate and support asylum seekers and immigrants’ transition into thriving New York City residents. We are looking for volunteers to share the holiday spirit by helping us wrap over 1,000 toys for children. Your help is crucial for our Christmas Celebration for asylum seekers and immigrants to succeed!

Location:

 49-28 31st Street, Long Island City, NY 11101 (use the entrance through double brown doors in the middle of the block).


Time Commitment:

  • This is a one-time opportunity on Saturday, December 9th, 2023.
    • Volunteers must be available for AT LEAST one 3-hour shift, either from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm
      OR 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend a mandatory orientation for new volunteers at the beginning of your shift.
  • Wrap presents.

Qualifications:

  • Ready to have a cheerful experience.
  • Ability to work in a group with a strong disposition for teamwork.
  • Ability to receive feedback.
  • Willingness to work with Spanish speakers - note Spanish proficiency is NOT required as bilingual staff will support volunteers. 


Training/Support Provided:
