Treasurer needed to join our Board of Directors!

In order to mitigate damages caused by undeniable inequality, Operation: ADULTing(r) curates projects for young adults which create global social impact.

We're back & better than ever! We've partnered with CONINVR This will be our fourth year in a row hosting Interns from New York City's Computer Science 4 All! Our organization's mission curates virtual & IRL activities to ensure the next generation is prepped for most of the things the "Real World" will throw at them.

What makes us different is that we're are a diverse, millennial & gen-z 501(c)(3) -with members who have been featured in Forbes 30 under 30, NPR, Lesbians Who Tech, Tedtalks and more- assisting minority high school & college seniors with navigating adulthood upon leaving the orbits of high school & college while introducing them to diverse leaders of their fields.

We're seeking two (2) Treasurers willing to be hands on & share their knowledge.  By joining our Board, you will:

  • Plan & organise monthly financial literacy events in VR or IRL. You'll be responsible for not only designing engaging financial literacy workshops but also recruiting expert speakers from diverse backgrounds to participate in panels & activities.

  • Collaborate with our team to find experts in areas like personal finance, crypto-finance, & investment to join monthly panels & activities. We aim to bring fresh, cutting-edge financial insights to our youth, bridging the gap between traditional finance & emerging trends like crypto.

  • Be familiar with STEM/STEAM (Science/Space, Technology, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence + Art, Media—we know, that's not what the 'M' stands for; they don't call us disruptive for nothing).

  • Have knowledge of contract/commercial law (such as the Uniform Commercial Code) & Political Sciences.

  • Hold an interest in mental health, as it plays a key role in the holistic development of young adults.

  • Be comfortable meeting & engaging with people from all walks of life & diverse communities.

  • Formulate strategic plans to help Operation: ADULTing accomplish its mission of empowering young adults.

Required Qualities:

  • go-getter attitude & a willingness to work as part of a dynamic, forward-thinking team.

  • Comfort working across Apple/Android/Windows platforms, as you will join board meetings virtually, with a provided VR headset for the time being.

  • A shared passion for helping the next generation of diverse innovators succeed!

Our mission is to eliminate prejudice within the minority and LGBTQ+ communities while combating community deterioration across the five (5) boroughs by:

  • building confidence in high school & college -almost- grads through mentoring, volunteering, fundraising opportunities, and networking workshops
  • promoting positive mental health through mindfulness
  • instilling goal setting, financial literacy and the importance of digital safety and identity

all while building a community built to empower those who choose to follow in their footsteps!

If you're sincere about your commitment and interested in contributing your expertise in running nonprofit programs, managing community relations & fundraising, than this is the org for you!
