Materials for the Arts

Materials for the Arts is New York City’s largest creative reuse center dedicated to supporting arts and cultural organizations. A program of the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs with support from the Department of Education and Friends of Materials for the Arts, MFTA collects about 2 million pounds of reusable materials per year from businesses and individuals across the five boroughs. These items were made available, free of charge, to nonprofits with arts programming as well as New York City public schools and City agencies.
