Organization Profile

Through storytelling and building human connection we empower and support LGBTQ displaced people in rebuilding their lives in new communities. Refuge America equips diverse stakeholders to end discrimination and accelerate LGBTQ Refugee and displace people acceptance, through: 1) Research (Fielding studies, evaluating data, and developing metrics that generate free annual accountability resources, such as: Refuge America’s annual report. 2) Training (Equipping participants to be compelling storytellers and media-savvy advocates for LGBTQ acceptance); and 3) Consulting (Helping corporations, companies, and organizations stand for justice). As of 2022, Refuge America has engaged 350 participants and has enjoyed such recent accomplishments as inspiring Documentary on refugees on HBO called Legend of the Underground and more inclusive cultures in hiring and mentoring LGBTQ refugees.
